Nestled in the serene landscape of Nebraska, this custom barn home, designed for customers Jack and Natalie Peetz, is a stunning tribute to the beauty of rustic architecture. Inspired by a horse barn in the Grand Tetons, it boasts dual cupolas atop its structure, adding both character and charm to the skyline.
"I was very sad to see all the barns falling down across America. I had fond memories of growing up and spending a lot of quality time on our farm, and the barn was always kind of our playground," shared customer Natalie Peetz. "I was always determined, as was my husband Jack, to build a barn."
Spanning an impressive 4,500 square feet, the home features an easy-flowing floor plan that emphasizes open spaces, perfect for gatherings and entertaining. Each area has been thoughtfully crafted to create a relaxing atmosphere, making it an inviting retreat for friends and family alike. The design reflects a welcoming aesthetic that seamlessly blends comfort and style.
Reclaimed wood, corrugated tin, iron, and stone come alongside cowhide rugs, pulley-style light fixtures, and vintage barrel tables. “Our taste is eclectic and warm,” Natalie says. “It fits the space.”
The outdoor area is equally enchanting, showcasing an open-air patio with a covered porch and lean-tos that stretch along the house, providing ample space to unwind. Beautifully landscaped, the surrounding environment offers tranquil spots to sit and appreciate the natural beauty of the trees, making this home an idyllic place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors.
The Peetz family now enjoys using their finished barn home as a gathering place to spend lots of quality time with family and friends. "In the 10 years that we’ve had our barn, we have hosted more family and friends than we would’ve ever done in our lifetime. People love to come to the “bunkhouse" on the weekends," shared Natalie.
