Timberlyne Donates Pergola to Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball Auction
The 2023 Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska preparations are underway as the event site comes to life for an exciting weekend in Pender, Nebraska. Timberlyne is a proud sponsor of the annual fundraising event and is donating a pergola for the third year.
“We are excited one of Nebraska’s premier events is being held so close to our Wayne location,” said Jaima Geisert, COO/CFO of Timberlyne. “Everyone has been affected by cancer in some way, including many of us at Timberlyne. We have been overwhelmed by the support our employees have given by volunteering to make this year’s event a success.”
Since the inaugural event in 1998, the Cattlemen’s Ball has raised more than $17 million to fund cancer research. Ninety percent of the proceeds go to the UNMC Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and the remaining ten percent is returned to the local community for health and wellness initiatives.
Timberlyne employees, Jason Moore and Joshua Buchholz visited the event site this week to construct the 10’x12’ pergola. The mortise and tenon framed pergola made of Douglas fir will be up for auction this weekend during the Saturday Evening Live Auction event. This portion of the auction is open to all ticket holders and will take place Saturday, June 3, at 7:00 PM in the main tent. The 2023 Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska will be hosted by the Weborg family of Pender on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3. The entire weekend promotes beef, showcases rural Nebraska, and raises money for cancer research. Full of entertainment and activities, this year will commemorate the 25th annual Cattlemen’s Ball event.
