Sharing Rural Heritage
20 years ago, Len Dickinson and his wife, Jule Goeller, had a dream to share the rich history of their rural heritage with the rest of the nation. The couple was impressed by the craftsmanship that only post and beam construction can create, so together they blended Len’s passion for timber framing with Jule’s pride in her rural heritage to form Sand Creek Post & Beam, which is now Timberlyne.
Like many small businesses, Len and Jule started their business at home, producing their very first barn kit in their own driveway. As interest grew, the couple moved the business out of their home and rented a small office in Wayne, Nebraska with an attached warehouse they shared with the building’s owner.
Growth Spurt
Word quickly spread of Sand Creek Post & Beam's exquisite buildings that were strong enough to weather the elements and stand the test of time. As the company grew, its headquarters did too, eventually settling in a 9,020 square foot office space with a three-building production facility where they not only built outstanding timber structures but built up the rural Nebraska economy by creating multiple jobs. In fact, in 2016, Sand Creek received the Third District Excellence in Economic Development Award.
Award-Winning Company
However, winning awards was nothing to the company. Throughout the last 20 years, Sand Creek Post & Beam, Inc. has received numerous awards and accolades including landing on the INC 500 Fastest Growing Companies in 2009 and the INC 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Also in 2011, Sand Creek was the SBA Nebraska Business of the Year.
A company committed to sustainability, Sand Creek Post & Beam received the NBDC Sustainability of the Year Award in 2015.
Even Disaster Won’t Keep Them Down
During a late-season storm in October 2013, Sand Creek’s production facility was devastated by a massive EF-4 tornado. But rural Americans are known for their tenacity. So Len, Jule and the Sand Creek Post & Beam crew rolled up their sleeves and got back to work. Within a month of the twister, the company was back to full production in a rented building, eventually rebuilding bigger and better than ever.
Introducing Timberlyne
It’s that rural American grit, tenacity and “can do” spirit that drove the company to grow beyond its Midwestern roots. After unifying with Barn Kings and Texas Timber Frames, Sand Creek Post & Beam took on the name Timberlyne in order to not limit themselves to post & beam construction or geographic location.

What began as a dream in a Nebraska driveway has grown into over 10,000 buildings in 49 states, with no two exactly the same.
Though the company continues to expand, Timberlyne remains committed to the belief that the ideal space blends beauty, functionality, sustainability and inspiration. This drives us to not only create exquisite buildings, but to provide matchless service every step of the way.
As it was on day one, it continues to be both an honor and a privilege to create timeless homes, barns and businesses that will inspire awe for generations to come.
