Double L Ranch Pool House

The pool house was designed to take the character of a traditional equipment building and reimagine it for modern family life. The space was created as a place to gather while enjoying the pool, a comfortable extension of the outdoor living experience where family and friends can come together, relax, and spend time with one another.

One of the defining features of the pool house is its wall of glass. Three sets of accordion doors open the room completely to the outdoors, creating a seamless connection between the pool, the gathering space, and the surrounding mountain range.

When the doors are open, the distinction between inside and outside nearly disappears. The expansive views become part of the architecture, while natural light fills the room throughout the day.

When the doors are closed, the space still feels connected to its surroundings, with the timber structure providing warmth and a sense of permanence against the clean lines of the glass.

Its design is intentionally uncomplicated. The timber structure brings warmth and texture, the glass opens the room to the landscape, and the flexible connection to the outdoors makes the pool house feel perfectly suited to its setting.

The project is a reflection of what thoughtful design can do: take the simplicity and honesty of an original structure and evolve it into something that feels entirely at home in the way a family lives today.
